PRIMARY OBJECTIVETo help the Restaurant meet daily sales goals and to ensure a positive customer experience by performing the following duties: Host/Hostess, Server, Dishwasher, Cook and providing superior customer service.NATURE AND SCOPEThis position may include Host/Hostess, Dishwasher, Server, and/or Cook responsibilities. Emphasis in this position is providing prompt, efficient and superior customer service. The position is responsible for taking and delivering food and beverage orders, ensuring accurate and prompt service. Position functions and work hours may vary according to business needs. Assignments and work direction provided by Restaurant Manager or person in charge. The position includes ongoing moderate to heavy lifting, walking, standing, social skills, judgment/decision making, reading, writing, and math.ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONSAssist CustomersProvide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactionsSmile and greet customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the restaurant or elsewhere in the storeMake an effort to learn customers' names and to address them by name whenever possibleAnswer the telephone promptly when called upon, and provide friendly, helpful service to customers who call including taking customer ordersCheck with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and takes action to correct any problemsCollect payments from customersWrite customers' food orders on order slips, memorize orders, or enter orders into computers for transmittal to restaurant staffTake orders from customers for food or beveragesCheck customer's identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beveragesServe food or beverages to customers, and prepare or serve specialty dishes at tables as requiredPresent menus to customers and answer questions about menu items, making recommendations upon requestClean tables or counters after customers have finished diningStock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware, and linensReport to work when scheduled and on timeClean restaurantFollow all safety, sanitation and food handling regulationsAssist in cleaning department and maintaining conditions in the back roomClean shelves, racking and cases as neededUse personal protective devices (splash goggles, chemical-resistant gloves) as requiredFollow all store and department policies and proceduresPerform other duties as assigned or delegated
