The Golf Course Maintenance Laborer, under the supervisor of the
Golf Course Superintendent / Assistant Superintendent and when
present the Assistant In Training, performs all jobs associated
with the care of the golf course.
Essential Job Functions:
Mowing with fairway units, triplexes, walk behind mowers, raking
sand with mechanical machines and hand rakes, cleaning debris from
course with sweepers, backpack blowers, pull behind blowers or by
hand. Assist in projects such as but not limited to; sod cutting
and laying, soil preparation and grading with machines and by hand,
digging holes and assisting in the repair of irrigations leaks.
Edge sand traps and waste bunkers with mechanical edger's and
string trimmers. Maintain clubhouse grounds including mowing,
edging, blowing and pulling weeds. Help maintain grade on cart
paths. Help keep bathrooms on course clean, apple barrel full,
water coolers full and trash cans emptied. Pick trash or tree
debris up with noticed.
Other Job Functions:
Keep all mowing equipment and utility carts clean. Keep the golf
maintenance shop and break room clean. Help keep the shop yard
clean, free of debris and all trash cans emptied. Prune trees with
chain saws, hand pruners, hand saws and loppers. May operate turf
utilization equipment such as aerifiers, verticutters and turf
vacuums. Helps provide basic preventative equipment maintenance as
directed by the equipment technician or assist superintendent,
check oil daily, refill fuel daily and report any equipment
failures to the equipment technician immediately. Performs other
duties as directed by his/her supervisor.
Ability to work well with others as a team. Ability to follow
written and oral directions. Basic knowledge of the game of golf
